Create Your Own Resources Online

If you’re not a great graphic artist, like me, there are several websites that allow you to create your own, thus:

  • Chibi KYARATSUKURU (RMXP) – This is a more comprehensive character maker, Google-translated into English from its original Japanese version. I love creating characters here, even if none of them ever make it into games!
  • RPG Material – Character Generation (RMVX) – This is the ultimate RMVX character creator (and the only one as far as I know). Not only can you create your own characters by setting a series of options, but you can randomize characters. The output even has the appropriate facesets to use too!

While these are the best resources for creating RMXP/RMVX chipsets conveniently online, there are several methods for character sets and chipsets from older versions of RPG Maker compatible with RMXP/RMVX. I’ll cover that in a future entry.

  1. is gone… Just a domain parking page now

Anyway, a here is a Faceset maker designed for rmxp, but it could be used for vx or ace if you wanted.

It’s in japanese, but is simple enough to figure out if you click around. one thing, though, is that it is very feminine, so it’s hard to make male character faces with it.

There used to be an english mirror site but that is gone as far as I know.

The ‘Kyatsukuru’ generator you linked also has a ‘female’ version for making female characters:

the one here is the male 🙂 however they are only for VX, not for XP…

still looking for an RMXP character generator… :sigh:

  2. Annnd just found this one (lol)

It’s a character generator in japanese, for RMXP. Pretty easy to use, just click the buttons and choose the things you want; but you can only choose from a selection of colors… (no hue/sat/bri)

Also, something I forgot to mention, junkhunts vx character maker.

it’s very customizable, it has all the rtp clothing, hair, etc, and you can adjust the hue, saturation, and brightness, etc, and you can generate several sets at once.

    It also makes facesets

downside: is that it is only in japanese, and there is no ‘preview’, you must enter the values and generate it to see it, and then make adjustments. It’s also a bit complex.

  3. This is another link that is also very good and I have tested it with RPG Maker XP and it works.

if you don’t have google chrome which automatically translates pages, then you should copy the link and search it on google for a translation you should find it.

Here is also a link to a youtube video which explains how to upload it to your RPG Maker XP game

    Hope this helps 🙂
