The Q-Engine Animated Title Add-On provides options for an animated title screen, along with an added informational menu window.
This uses a simple animation add-on to be able to manipulate pictures as layers and overlays, but it’s effective for what it’s intended to do.
It was originally part of the Q-Engine, but was extracted to make future expansion easier.
Here’s a showcase some of its major features. All of these are customizable.
- Background Layers – Four background layers, three of which can be animated to provide various effects on the Title Screen.
- Title/Author Layers – The game title and author (or subtitle) can be animated into view.
- Opacities/Blends – Layer opacities and blends can be adjusted to obtain different effects.
The following modules are required for the QES-ATA to run (in order):
- Global Colors Module (GCM)
- Q-Engine
- Bitmap Addons (BMA)
No video demo is available yet, but I’m aiming to have a video showcasing the different effects that can be achieved with the QES-ATA.
Installing The Text Version
- Copy and paste the script into RMVX between Materials and Main Processes (below the Q-Engine script).
PDF Format
The updated manual will be uploaded soon.
Demo Version
A full demo will be made available as soon as one is created and uploaded.
The Q-Engine is constantly developing, with new features being added regularly. Planned updates for the QES-ATA are essentially tweaks to improve overall animation. Other add-ons will be implemented in due time.
